New Yarns, Classes and more – TNNA Winter Show 2016

New Yarns, Classes and more – TNNA Winter Show 2016

Every January comes a double punch in the knitting world. First we have our trade show TNNA, followed by my favorite time of the year . . . Vogue Knitting Live NYC (more about that in the next post)!

That makes for two weeks full of yarn, friends, classes, amazing students, and this year . . . a killer cold that knocked me on my &%$#. The fact that 13 days later I’m still sick, might explain why this blog took so long to write.

TNNA Winter Show 2016

TNNA (The National NeedleArts Association) is the industry trade show that takes place twice a year. I always attend to, spot the newest yarns that I may want to get my grubby little paws on, to teach classes and to see all my industry peeps.

This year things started out just fine. Arrived on Thursday, rain cleared, view was lovely. Friday morning I headed out to teach at the Building Better Business Day. I always look forward to spending a day focused on the biz side of our industry. Although my full time job is a knitting teacher and knitwear designer, I also am also a business consultant with yarn stores.

Saturday, more teaching, and then the show floor! My goal for this show was to seek out possible yarns for a new pattern collection I’ll be doing this year (stay tuned for news of Ravelry group and KALs!). I spotted some great ones from North Light Fiber, Anzula, Skacel – Hikoo, Imperial Yarn, Classic Elite and Trendsetter . . . I have a lot of swatching to do!

Unfortunatly, by Saturday I was starting to get sick (I had no idea what was to come), so I didn’t take a lot of photos, but here’s a little sneek behind the scenes.

I had two days to recover, which I thought would be fine before my FAVORITE time of the year Vogue Knitting Live . . . but more about that tomorrow. Time to take my cough syrup.
