Check out Bent Stripe Mitts by my friend Norah Gaughan, this is a quick knit project with definitely not a basic design. Each mitt is knit in one piece from the bottom up and seamed. For those of you who want to gain new skills while preparing gifts, it’s an easy lace pattern you will learn how to add German short rows to fill in the spaces above and below the bent lace pattern.

When I was working on my class, “Let it Go: Drop Stitch Patterns” a few years ago, I was having a LOT of Fun with drop stitches. And Clos Grape Vine Scarf is one of the patterns I created which combines a dropped stitch with a twisted stitch pattern. And the most amazing thing is that one skein of DK weight yarn is all it takes for making this, or you can use two skeins and add an extra pattern repeat for a wider version.
