- I’m a self-taught knitter who has done everything wrong and lived to tell the tale. Right now, you may be wondering how I went from self-taught knitter to knitting teacher. Simply put, I did it by screwing up everything I possibly could (there weren’t knitting blogs and YouTube back then) and having to figure out solutions all by myself.

Patty has taught hundreds of thousands of knitters in-person and through her virtual classes. Her designs and knitting skill articles have been published in magazines including Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Knit Purl, Knitter’s Magazine, Cast On, Knit Style, Creative Knitting, and Twist Collective.
Patty is currently a regular contributor to Modern Daily Knitting where she writes a knitter’s advice column: “Ask Patty.” Patty’s designs have also been included in pattern collections from brands including Classic Elite, Noro, Cascade, Tahki Stacy Charles, Sugar Bush and Willow Yarns.
Patty has been a repeat guest on PBS’s Knitting Daily TV and featured as subject-matter expert in publications including the Wall Street Journal. She’s even made a nemesis (all in good fun) out of popular late night host, Seth Meyers—of Late Night with Seth Meyers—on whose popular “Corrections” web series she’s appeared.

The class was a blast; watching demonstrations on a screen of Patty knitting made visibility so much easier as we could see the intricacies of creating each stitch. In addition she also helped each student individually with demos and explanations. I never had to worry if I was doing the technique wrong because she verified that each student fully understood before moving on.
