What are you looking forward to for spring? I’m looking forward to hanging up my winter coat, enjoying the warm weather, walking in the park, and gardening. I love to travel, but that will have to wait for a bit. But while we wait to travel, I wanted to share with you some pictures I’ve captured over the years of some of my favorite places around the world and how they inspired my designs.
Here are 5 patterns featuring spring colors that you should try this season!
01 Corcoran x Sky Blue
For those who didn’t know, I am originally from Chicago which of course is one of my favorite places. I took a picture of “The Bean” which is one of Chicago’s most iconic sights. Take a look at the sky in the picture. The blue sky reminds me of my first video sweater class—Corcoran. It’s a light blue sweater with a perfect blend of wool and cotton for the sometimes unpredictable spring weather.
02 Zig Zag Rib Raglan x Raspberry
These flowers are wildflowers along the side of the road by my house. I loved the colors so much. I think a purple sweater you can try this season is Zig Zag Rib Raglan. It not only features a zig-zag hem but also at the cuff and neck! This design is perfect if you’re looking for something warm to wear on those chilly days.
03 Palm Canyon x Silver
This picture was taken at the Palm Canyon Waterfall in California. I loved it so much that I was inspired to create and name a sweater after it. The Palm Canyon is a gray sweater featuring a cotton and linen blend. It’s perfect for those sunny or breezy days in springtime. And guess what? It’s also a reversible design. You have the option of having a V-neck in the front and crew neck in the back and vice versa.

04 Ziarre x Minty Green
Minty green makes me feel fresh and calm, and it reminds me of the smell of grass. I’ve found mint green color inspiration several times when I’ve traveled around the world: the fountain in Koblenz, Germany and the river in Lucerne, Switzerland. 05 Gabey x Nautical Colors
Of course, Maine holds a special place in my heart. It’s where we’ll be having our AffiKNITy knitting retreat this year (originally last year!). Thinking nautically, I have a sailor-inspired top with a pop of red called Gabey. It’s a drawstring pullover top. Since it has a split hem, you are able to adjust the length. If you’re looking to knit a more casual top, try this one!
